Gaming - Boon or Bane

Sitting in front of my PlayStation after a great game of racing made me think. Why is gaming considered a bad habit by many? Why is it of great disgust to parents? Why doesn't everyone play games? Why does one say I don't have time for such child play? And why does one say that you are wasting your time, when you should be doing something more serious? It made me wonder.
Gaming is considered as an addiction by many all over the world. To an extend it is the truth. With all the violence present in some games, it can motivate kids to wrong doings. And being in front of the gaming screen for hours without any outdoor games or exercise, not to mention the damage caused to your eyes from hours of gaming. There is much other known harm which is caused from gaming. Thus many consider gaming a bane.
Ever since I was a child gaming has been fun and had given me much happiness. Living in a busy city with fewer kids of same age and no one around to play with has always made me feel lonely. Being a shy kid I had fewer friends. Considering all these in hand, gaming was fun and has given me much happiness. So, under the right circumstances with the right amount, gaming can be good. It can make you less lonely. Many constructive games can improve your creative thinking. Imagination in your life can be of great use, and many games provide an opportunity for you to imagine.
Games played online with other humans and not with computers can increase your competitive spirit, which can help you with your life. It also can teach you not only the taste of victory but also it can help you understand the bitterness of failure and make them try till you succeeds.
Anyone of any ages can play games. Escaping from the real world into the virtual gaming world at times is advisable. One can get relieved from stressful situations through games; there are also many games which can improve one's memory power, typing skill, hand-eye coordination, and reflex. It is said that when you are alone your mind starts playing with you in many ways. Positive thoughts comes less while negative ones will be filled in your mind, also habits like drinking and smoking may come into your life. But when you pass your time with something like gaming it can help your mind be occupied with the game which can help you forget all the stress and tension, without any smoke or drinks.
Many go for paid yoga classes, therapies, counseling and all to get relieved from ones stress and tension and the diseases caused by it. But I say get an Xbox or a PlayStation, get a good game, game with your friends, family in weekends, and have a get together. And this will give you the same results. Thus I consider gaming a boon.

Today, if you are not using social media to market your business, you are already 5 steps behind your competitors. Let's learn how to successfully leverage social media to increase your business potential.
The first thing you will need to do when learning how to successfully leverage social media is to create one (or several) social media pages for your business. There are several different social media sites out there and the more you use the more successful you will be. Websites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube are today's top social media resources that will allow you to gain exposure online.
Once you have created your account, you must create and share compelling content. If you want to attract people to your page, you will need to engage your audience. If you want to engage your audience, you will need to know what they are interested in and how your product can benefit them. Include a variety of interesting and informative information on your social media page using articles, blogs, videos, statistics, pictures, and more.

In attracting the interest of your target audience, providing them with interesting and informative information is not enough. You must also provide them with an incentive to purchase your product or service. Use your social media website to promote special offers or sales.
When learning how to successfully leverage social media, it is important to remember that one of your main goals is to direct traffic to your business website. To do this, include links within your social media page. You don't need to include links with every post, but be sure that they are easily visible and accessible.
If you want to learn how to successfully leverage social media, it is also important that you keep your audience engaged and wanting to return. Special offers are one way to do this, but keeping your information up to date is also useful. Engage your audience. Encourage them to ask questions and respond to them in a timely manner. The key to maintaining previous customers is building rapport and developing trust. This can all be done through proper communication.
Finally, in learning how to successfully leverage social media to build your business, it is also important that you cross-reference your social media profiles. Post links to your social media accounts in your emails, connect your blog to your social media sites, add share buttons, connect your LinkedIn page to your Twitter page, and so on.
In today's society, almost everyone has their own social media webpage. If you are not using social media to promote your business, you are missing out a great opportunity to market your business where the people are. Create several social media websites, develop interesting content, post links to your website, communicate with your clients, and cross-reference your social media sites. Lenovo doesn't give up on Windows tablets, announces IdeaPad P1

Lenovo doesn't give up on Windows tablets, announces IdeaPad P1

Amid Lenovo's unveiling of several Android tablets, a Windows alternative still remains. The IdeaPad P1, also announced today, adopts a similar appearance to the Android IdeaPad K1 tablet, but with a Windows 7 operating system and PC-oriented specs and features. It's like an iPad that runs Windows.

The 10.1-inch 1,280x800-pixel multitouch display also works with an optional stylus. A 0.3-megapixel Webcam handles video calls, but the IdeaPad P1 conspicuously lacks a rear camera. The rear panel comes in either Clementine orange or Silver gray, resembling the back of a Netbook.
The IdeaPad P1 comes with either 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage and up to 2GB of RAM. OS options cover the gamut from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Professional. Connection options are sparse: a single USB 2.0 port, a microSD card reader, a SIM card slot for optional 3G, and a docking port. The P1 also has 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
As far as processor speed, it's a bit unclear; the 1.79-pound tablet has a 1.5GHz Intel processor (exact type thus far unspecified), along with integrated Intel HD graphics, which have proven decent thus far for basic gaming. A two-cell battery offers up to 6 hours of battery life, according to Lenovo.
Who, exactly, would want a Windows tablet instead of an Android tablet or iPad? We're not trying to be critical, but one of the biggest hurdles facing Windows tablets has been Windows 7 itself and its tablet-targeted applications, or lack thereof. Windows 7 supports touch, but it always feels glommed on in smaller touch-screen tablet environments. Windows 8 might begin to solve these issues, but for now, it seems that companies like Lenovo haven't given up hope. Lenovo App Manager, installed on the IdeaPad P1, aims to offer better app discovery and app switching. We haven't seen it in action yet, but Windows tablets have a lot of work to do as far as offering a user interface and experience that's anywhere close to what's already available on the iPad and other Android/WebOS alternatives.
The IdeaPad P1 has no price yet, and will be available sometime in the "fourth quarter 2011." We remain intrigued, but skeptical.

Stealth Computer LPC-125LPM Ultra-Compact PC Released

Stealth Computer LPC-125LPM Ultra-Compact PC Released
What you’re going to get right here is one small computer, that’s an open and shut case. This is the quite unassuming LPC-125LPM from Stealth Computer, a group that’s known for it’s small and awesome machinery. This device measures 6.1-inches by 4-inches by 1.45-inches, it weighing in at 1.2 pounds and having any color case you want, just so long as it’s black. Inside you’re going to find a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom D525 dual-core processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, and a 55GB solid state drive. Is this the next ultra-tiny computer on your desktop or hidden under your desk, or would you rather have a dual-core smartphone instead? Let’s get a little bit more into this situation before you make your decision.

The LPC-125LPM has a VGA port, ExpressCard/34 slot, RS232 ports, an internal mini PCIe slot, and a partridge in a pear tree. It’s got a rough and tumble hard case surrounding it and comes standard with a few brackets so you can mount the device to your wall or right on to the back of your giant display. The LPC-125LPM also comes with a power interface which controls the system shutdown and startup when power to the device is interrupted. Lightening strikes, car crashes, and skateboard jumps. Mount this little guy anywhere.
What this device is meant for is machines that’ll be sitting in industrial settings, kiosks, big fabulous signs, and all manner of oddball machines that we the normal everyday consumer might never think of. Here’s my question for you – what would you use such a tiny computer for? Furthermore, what looks more appealing to you knowing the price, the design, and the abilities of both – the LPC-125LPM at $895, or the Apple Mac mini June 2011 refresh at $999? As a reminder, this price gets you the Mac mini with a 2.0GHz quad-core Core i7 inside, 4GB or RAM, and twin 500GB hard drives – plus Thunderbolt port and WiFi and what I’m certain is a design made to be out in the open instead of tucked away as the Stealth, as the name makes plain, is supposed to be.
You know which one I’d pick.
Choose wisely!
